Brad Pitt Does Eraserhead

December 08, 2011 By Mike B

Is this Brad Pitt’s audition for a remake of David Lynch’s 1978 classic film, Eraserhead? No, probably not. It’s more of a homage/parody sort of thing, but why did Pitt do it? Well, one can always say that he’s Brad Pitt and he can do as he pleases.

Anyways, the real reason is that the video is part of a collection of contemporary actors embodying “villains” from the years past. George Clooney, Ryan Gosling, Kirsten Dunst, Michael Shannon, Rooney Mara and others participated in this event called Touch of Evil. It’s kind of interesting to see the actors that were chosen for particular roles. If Brad Pitt were to actually play the lead role in a remake to Eraserhead, that just wouldn’t be…right.

They’re all pretty well shot, and the actors seem to be having a good time temporarily filling the shoes of their favorite villains.  The entire collection is on the NY Times website, so check it out here.
