The Amazing Spider-Man: Anyone Interested?

June 28, 2012 By Mike B

So, the Amazing Spider-Man is coming out fairly soon– are you stoked about it? Not too many people seem to be, at least in my neck of the woods. The trailers have been interesting, offering a new take on Spidey, and Andrew Garfield seems game, but I’m just not that excited about a film I’ve seen already. Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy didn’t seem too long ago, even though the first film was released a decade ago in 2002.

Will I give it a watch? Well, it is getting favorable reviews, and it seems that Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone will be worth at least the price of an economy ticket (for showtimes before noon). Let’s face it, this is pretty much an appetizer to the Dark Knight Rises (although, Marvel heads may disagree by default).

“Graced with great performances from Garfield and Stone, The Amazing Spider-Man is a rare comic-book flick that is better at examining relationships than superheroism.”- Ian Freer (Empire Magazine)

I’ll give it a try, and if it sucks, I’ll steal a few posters the movie theater has lying around to make up for my $6 economy ticket.

For those that are excited about the Amazing Spider-Man, look no further. There’s a fan-made 25 minute preview of the film! Of course, it probably won’t be exactly correct in it’s portrayal, but go for it if you need to satisfy your Spider-Man craving…
