The Avengers Premiere at El Capitan Theater

April 13, 2012 By Mike B

Only 20 more days until the Avengers hits theaters, which will cause fanboy nerdgasms, and have them prematurely debate how much better the Avengers is then the Dark Knight Rises. It will be a Mexican stand-off indeed this Summer between the Avengers, the Dark Knight Rises, and Prometheus. Anyways, the Avengers had its premiere at the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles, so there has been some early feedback on the film.

Joss Whedon  directed, as well as wrote, this bad boy, so there are high hopes that this will be nothing short of amazing. Whedon doesn’t really have a major botch on his cinematic track record, so there’s no real concern with him quarterbacking the film. So, what was Scarlett Johannson wearing that night? How’s Robert Downey Jr’s new baby? Will Chris Hemsworth and Joss Whedon team up again? Who cares? Lets go to the film feedback!

“Loki proved to be an amazing mental manipulator…like an interstellar Hannibal Lecter”- aintitcoolnews

I always thought that Tom Hiddleston was the best actor in Thor, so it’s good to see signs that his performance carried over, and perhaps evolved. A proper villain is always essential.

“THE AVENGERS. Finally, a Marvel film with a rousing finish. I’ll deal with the first two acts in my review… And that third act is more than enough to make THE AVENGERS the best Marvel movie yet.” Jeremy Smith

And it’s better than the Dark Knight Rises too! ….oh, wait, that’s not out yet.

“The Avengers is pretty epic. There is probably more action in this film’s climax than all the other Marvel movie [sic] combines!…  I have a lot of nitpicks in the first half. But second half is pretty solid.” Peter Sciretta

Good. The Iron Man films had the  softest action scenes I’ve ever seen. Okay, maybe not “ever,” but they were soft serve doo doo, although I did enjoy the two films despite that.

The Avengers comes out on May 4, 2012. Currently, Whedon’s project the Cabin in the Woods, is out now.
