The Master New Teaser With Philip Seymour Hoffman

June 20, 2012 By Mike B

Paul Thomas Anderson’s the Master came out with an intriguing teaser trailer awhile ago, and now we can drink up another. In a world where the majority devour superhero flicks and Young Adult book adaptations, it’s quite refreshing to see an upcoming Paul Thomas Anderson project is hitting theaters soon (okay, October isn’t soon enough).  We’ll probably be seeing an adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey sometime soon (urbanized, where they may change the title to Fitty Shades of Grey) so it’s refreshing to have some balance with films like the Master.

Joaquin Phoenix takes the lead role as a drifter who meets an intellectual known as the Master. This teaser trailer introduces us to Lancaster Dodd, played by Philip Seymour Hoffman. It also shows us a glimpse of Mary Sue Dodd, played by the always capable Amy Adams.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely going to be in line for the midnight showing of the Dark Knight Rises , as I was for the Avengers, but the Master seems like a film rather than a flick.
