The Rock For President After Film Career?

February 08, 2012 By Mike B

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is currently making his rounds promoting Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and G.I. Joe: Retaliation and something interesting came up in his interview with Moviefone about his “connections” and political interests after his film career is over.

The Rock claims that he was one of the first people to know about Osama Bin Laden’s death because he  knows people in “high places.” He couldn’t reveal who told him because his connections are that badass.

“If I tell you that, I won’t have to “kill” you, but I’ll have to behead you — no, I got my sources. I got friends in high places and low places. It was a very interesting day; I’m proud of our country and proud to be American. The individuals who were there were proud to let me know. I knew the President was going to give his speech; I thought he was going to give it at a certain time and so I thought, “I think it’s appropriate that I tweet ‘I’m damn proud to be an American,’” The Rock said.

Additionally, The Rock expressed his interest in politics, and mentioned that he’s thinking about getting involved in the future.

“Right now the best way that I can impact the world is through entertainment. One day, and that day will come, I can impact the world through politics. The great news is that I am American, therefore I can become President. But don’t forget: I am G.I. Joe,” The Rock continued.

The Rock for President?  He’d intimidate opposing forces with the raise of his eyebrow and may turn foes into fans. Issues would be handled with Wrestlemania matches. State of the Union addresses would go something like this…
