Javier Bardem as Silva in Skyfall

March 13, 2012 By Mike B

No, that’s not Javier Bardem in Hot Fuzz 2, it’s Bardem in Skyfall, the new 007 James Bond film. Daniel Craig will be back as the dashing, deadly agent, and Sam Mendes is giving it a go in the director’s chair. This time around, the 007 film will have a plot more interesting then…whatever the plot was for Quantum of Solace (something about water? ).  Anyways, Craig will be surrounded by a talented cast, including Judi Dench, Helen McCory, Ralph Fiennes and Javier Bardem.

Bardem will be playing a villain named Silva, and that’s all the information that is clear right now. Looking at the picture you’ll see that Bardem is stuck with another awkward hair style. Who knows? Maybe he found a formula: awkward hair style plus villainous character equals awesome, Oscar-worthy performance. Many are excited that Bardem will play the baddie once again, and there’s really no complaining with that choice.

Sam Mende’s is an interesting choice for a director, as he is known for more dramatic films, so we’ll see what he brings to the table with this Bond film. Of course, it’s not going to be that difficult to top Quantum of Solace and the villain that cried blood.

Just in case you forgot how awesome Javier Bardem is playing the bad guy:
