Cinema today uses a vast amount of Computer Graphics and VFX, and when it’s bad it’s bad, but when it’s good, it’s absolutely amazing. Throughout the evolution of cinema, visual effects teams have made it possible for characters to fly through space, have resurrected the dinosaurs, have brought superheroes to life, and much more. There’s no glass ceiling to what they can do.
From October 16-19, VIEW Conference 2012, which is one of the most exciting events in the world of Computer Graphics, Digital Cinema, 3D animation, Gaming, VFX and Interactive Techniques, will be held in Turin, Italy for its 13th year. This is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of computer graphics and the power of creative technology. Film geeks and tech-nuts from around the world will be in attendance, sharing their common love of technology being the paintbrush of the imagination.
At the VIEW Conference 2012, there will be exhibits, lectures from talented guests, screenings, demos, and more all revolving around the new digital frontier. It won’t just be about graphics and technological advancements in film, but also in video games, automotive designs, and even medicine.
One of the many talented speakers at VIEW Conference 2012 will be Jason Smith, the Visual Effects Associate Supervisor of ILM (Industrial Light & Magic). Smith will be discussing his work on the Avengers, Rango, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, and Transformers. He will be discussing film-geek worthy subjects, such as incorporating Mark Ruffalo into the performance of the Hulk and the creation of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. In addition, he will be building a new Iron Man and a digital New York City for the Avengers to protect (or avenge).
