The Avengers Deleted Scenes

August 29, 2012 By Mike B

The DVD/Blu-Ray release of the Avengers is less than a month away, and there are a couple of sneak peeks at some of the deleted scenes. The first one released gives us an alternate opening to Joss Whedon’s superhero extravaganza, and it’s quite good, yet it sets a different tone for the movie altogether. It also gives off a vibe that the Avengers failed to fight off Loki and his army, which would’ve been one hell of a shock,  so that could be why it got the cut.

Check it out:

The next deleted scene that was released is a scene that shows Captain America transitioning to the present. This one  actually could’ve fit in nicely with the final product, but I guess they had to cut corners somewhere for the run-time. When old Cap runs across Peggy’s picture, with her current residence and number, it cuts to a phone, but he never calls. The chemistry between Cap and Peggy in Captain America: the First Avenger was great, so the two meeting in modern time would’ve been depressing as hell. Picture yourself not getting any older than 30, but your significant other gets to grandma-status. Awkward? Very.
