Ashton Kutcher to Play Apple Co-Founder Steve Jobs

April 02, 2012 By Mike B

Ashton Kutcher has been given the part of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs for the upcoming biopic. “Say it ain’t so!” is probably what many are thinking, but he was chosen because of his resemblance to Steve Jobs in his early hippie years.

The film project will be directed by Joshua Michael(?) who directed an Aaron Eckhart film called Neverwas (?). This will not be the planned biopic based on Jobs’ autobiography. The rights to adapting Jobs’ autobiography has been picked up by Sony, as this project with Kutcher will be an Indie flick.  The film will start in Jobs’ earlier years as a hippie, and will most likely see him through to the man we all know today.

So how will Kutcher do in the role of Steve Jobs? Well, he was pretty solid in the Butterfly Effect and also in…the Butterfly Effect. At least we know that he is capable of doing Drama well enough, instead of those crappy Comedies he keeps doing. Filming will begin once Kutcher takes a hiatus from the Two and a Half Men TV show.

Who else might have been able to pull off the role as Steve Jobs? Christian Bale, James Cromwell (as an older Steve Jobs only), Jason Schwartzman, Stanley Tucci, Ralph Fiennes, etc.

Oh well, Ashton Kutcher it is.
