Looper Star Joseph Gordon-Levitt: 5 Films to Watch

Looper Joseph Gordon Levitt

Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Looper

Looper is generating quite a lot of buzz, and is being ranked as one of the best films of the year by many film critics. Scratch that, I don’t want to hype this up: Looper is a horrible film, don’t watch it!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis play an older and younger version of the same character, Joe the time traveling hit-man, and the film centers around how the time traveling hit-man has to kill his future self. Confusing? Yes, in  a very very good way. Thought-provoking, fresh films aren’t really given this type of treatment, but I’m glad Looper is an exception. The film gives off a sort of 12 Monkeys mixed with Terminator  kind of vibe, and Rian Johnson is an amazing talent that needs to be recognized. Joseph Gordon-Levitt starred in Johnson’s first feature film, Brick, a detective story set in a high school, and now Johnson and Gordon-Levitt are looping back to reunite for this film. Can you tell that I’m excited?

Rian Johnson’s Looper is coming out in theaters this Friday, but for those eager Joseph Gordon-Levitt fans, here are 5 of his films that you should definitely catch (I didn’t include Inception or 500 Days of Summer because everyone and their moms have watched those films, so pipe down):

Brick (2005):

50/50 (2011):

Mysterious Skin (2004):

Hesher (2010):

The Lookout (2007):
